A Women's Retreat in France

Facilitator and Tour Host: Karen Ely
Retreat Title: Joie de Vivre: Finding Peace, Clarity and Inspiration in the French Countryside
Dates: September 12 - 18, 2010

Joie de Vivre . . . the expression itself summons up visions of joy, adventure, and opportunities yet to be realized. Join experienced facilitator, Karen Ely, and nine other amazing women from all over the world for six days of serenity, personal growth, community, creativity and a quiet step into simpler times . . . all in the picturesque French countryside of Burgundy.

Experience the unique opportunity of stepping back from your day-to-day busyness and returning to the simplicity of country life, French style. We will be lodged in a recently renovated 300-year old farmhouse, set amidst the rolling farmland and vineyards of France's Burgundy region, in many ways unchanged from 300 years ago. Acres of fertile land, clear and starry nights, fresh air, the scent of freshly baking bread, organic gardens, time to wander and reflect, and a community of women quietly working together and supporting each other. From the moment you arrive at the retreat on Sunday evening until you pack to leave the following Saturday morning, experienced facilitator, Karen Ely, will lead you on a quiet exploration back to the person you were born to be. We will walk quietly in nature, sit joyfully in circle, journal and meditate, create communal art projects, plant and harvest in the garden, make bread and jam, enjoy wine tastings, and gather each evening to joyfully create our evening meal together, as women have been doing since the beginning of recorded time . . .

When I walk into my kitchen today, I am not alone.
Whether we know it or not, none of us is.
We bring fathers and mothers and kitchen tables
and every meal we have ever eaten.
Food is never just food.
It's also a way of getting at something else:
Who we are, who we have been, and
who we want to be.
~ Molly Wizenberg

In today's hectic time-starved world it becomes even more important to find time for quiet renewal, time to step back and assess who you are and where you're going. Join us on this amazing personal and cultural journey, one that has the capacity to give you back to you.

Martha Beck Workshop

Guest Facilitator: Martha Beck
Workshop Title: "Money Making Genius for the 20th Century"
Dates: June 19 & 20, 2010

Join a select group of 20 women for the opportunity of a lifetime! Sit in circle with Oprah’s “Life Design” coach and bestselling author of Finding Your Own North Star, Martha Beck, and learn how to connect the dots between the activities you love and attracting the money you desire! There are workshops on how to maximize your money, budget your money, make your money generate more money…but none of those workshops do any good unless you're able to make money in the first place.

Many people - women in particular - are never taught how to connect the dots between doing something useful and getting paid for it. This workshop is to help you connect those dots, to figure out how you can use your talents, interests, and education (formal or informal street smarts and people skills are often better than book learning) to contribute something positive to the world, and make a living doing it.

Maybe you've never made money, or maybe your way of earning has suddenly disappeared - there's a lot of that going around. Our economy is changing rapidly, and many people fear their earning potential is evaporating.

The opposite is true. There's never been a better time for an individual - especially an individual whose job prospects don't look good - to make a living using means that are available to everyone. But to take advantage of this, you need the right mindset, the right idea, and the right actions.

In this workshop, you'll identify the inner blocks that are keeping you from seeing or using opportunities to make decent money doing good things. You'll figure out areas where you're a “natural,” where you've mastered marketable skills without even knowing it. And you'll learn simple ways of connecting those skills with pragmatic steps that link them to financial abundance.

This knowledge is like a basic supply kit, all you need to keep yourself happily afloat financially, whatever circumstances you may face. If you don't know the basic architecture of making money, this can be the worst of times. If you do, it can be the best. Come learn to connect the dots between the activities you love and the money you need!
